Pedal Party Parade is buzzing with excitement to support PEDAL POWER, a free cycling event for all ages on Sunday, 11th May! 🚴‍♀️🌍 

 Join us for a fun and creative pre-event activity, Dress Your Bike Workshop on Saturday 3rd May at The Bike Hub, located in Eamonn Ceannt Park, Crumlin.  

This is a family-friendly, free event, and we encourage all participants to get into the spirit of the occasion. Kids are welcome and should be accompanied by an adult. 

In the workshop, you’ll create bike and rider costumes using repurposed materials, adding a creative flair to the joy of cycling while promoting climate action. Afterward, we’ll pedal together in biodiversity-themed parade on Sunday 11th May, celebrating our planet and the joy of cycling!

To help you learn how to find, develop and deliver a story, we are hosting a free storytelling Workshop at the Sugar Club on Saturday May 10th from 2-4pm. During this 2-hour session, you’ll learn what goes into a great story and how to find, develop and deliver a personal story inspired by Growth.

Our PedalPower Cycle Parade will be happening at 11.00am Sunday 11th May 2025 along a 7km route. The theme is bees and flowers, with many of the participants putting on colourful costumes. Join us with your funnest bees and flowers costume and decorated bike at any of the four pick up points of the parade for a buzzing good time. The pick-up points are Bangor Circle, Mount Argus Park, Harold’s Cross Park and Parnell Road (Fire station) for final Kiddie Kilometre ending at Eamonn Ceannt Park. 

Registration for the parade is mandatory.

PedalPower Dublin is a FREE cycling event for all ages and abilities, taking place in Sundrive Velodrome, Eamonn Ceannt Park, Crumlin from 12noon to 4.00pm on Sunday 11th May.

A wide range of family-friendly outdoor events will be held in the park to get people moving and to promote a more sustainable urban mobility culture, such as children’s activities, food trucks, bike maintenance workshops, BMX demonstrations, pedal-powered workshops and much more!

Join Change Clothes for a fun, hands-on workshop that's perfect for families and beginners of all ages! In this one-hour session, you'll learn basic hand sewing techniques in a relaxed and creative setting. Using colourful scrap fabrics, we'll guide you through simple projects like making your own scrunchie, stitching a unique bookmark, or designing a mini fabric creature to take home. 

No experience? No problem! This workshop is designed to be welcoming and accessible, with easy-to-follow steps and friendly support along the way. Whether you're threading a needle for the first time or just want a playful, screen-free hour with the kids, Sew Simple! is a great way to get creative, learn a new skill, and help give old textiles a new life.

Abhainn by Rosie O’Reilly is being hosted on the Dublin Discovery Trails app. It consists of 7 distinct episodes that create a love letter to Dublin’s rivers, to the life they hold and make possible and the people who care for them. Abhainn will take its participants on a unique journey through the city of Dublin, a journey through both liminal and covert places, their stories woven together to create a walk through the city though a distinct hydro-lens. Abhainn asks what happens when we shift the focus and talk about the city through its water and hydrological systems? What can water and the rivers and their inhabitants teach us when we acknowledge water is the continuum that holds the city together?

This event will explore the role that SMEs can play as leaders and change makers in building sustainable communities and contributing to a low carbon economy. Through conversation and interactive sessions, business-owners and climate experts will discuss the most effective ways to strike a sustainable balance between planet, people & profit – and how to access the information, supports and inspiration needed to put climate action on your business agenda.   

The event will be moderated by climate journalist Jo Linehan and speakers will include Megan Best (Native Events), Niamh Doyle (Lush) and Orla Butler (Goodbody Clearsteam). 

As part of our new storytelling project, City Stories, we are looking to share personal true stories that teach us a valuable lesson about Growth. Whether it’s a story of growing your favourite plant, growing as a person or working with others to deliver an ambitious project, we want to hear what made you sow those seeds, helped them blossom and what you learnt along the way. From making that big move in life to picking up a skill that changed everything, we’re looking for stories about starting something out of nothing, of getting out of your comfort zone, or navigating failure before finally finding success.

This May, as part of Climate Action Week, let’s all help each other not just grow but flourish as we share our personal true stories at The Dublin Story Slam.

The key takeaway from this informational and sustainability advice clinic is that the businesses walk away with a greater understanding the difference between supports from the LEO and supports from SEAI and what is relevant to their situation.

This Bike Week by Night event is an exclusive Irish screening of a captivating documentary that explores cycling as more than transport—it’s a journey.

The Song Cycle 
Veteran musician and filmmaker Nick Kelly sets off to cycle from his home in Dublin to Glastonbury, carrying all his gear on his bike and playing in pubs and clubs along the way. He’s accompanied by his easy-going musical partner Seán Millar, who travels by bus to join Nick onstage each evening, and by intrepid cameraman Céin O’Brien who films the agony and ecstasy of the odyssey. Nick turns 60 on the day they play Glastonbury, officially outliving his famous politician father. A funny and thought-provoking film about Mother Nature, Father Time, and Brothers on the Road

There will be a curated panel of thought leaders— in a pre-screening chat, sparking conversation on how Dublin can evolve into a more liveable, community orientated, bike-friendly city.

A workshop for Dublin Bike Week with Michelle Browne

Listening to the City is a series of audio guides developed by artist and curator Michelle Browne to create insight and empathy into the way different city users experience the city. Join us for Listening to the City III, where you the public, both adults and children from 7 years old, are invited to create your own audio description of the city.  What routes do you cycle, walk, or scoot? How do you experience these routes: what sights, sounds or smells are part of your everyday experiences of moving through Dublin and its suburbs? Together we will create an online audio map to share our experiences of the city with the wider public.

This workshop is a joint collaboration between Dublin City Council and Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and will be hosted at IMMA.
